Enzymes that manipulate glycans and glycopeptides

A major focus of our research is in the areas of glycobiology and glycomics. In general, we are interested in biological or biotechnological glycobiology problems that can be addressed through discovery of novel enzymes (or binding proteins) and/or improved analytical workflows. Areas of interest have involved improving workflows for analysis of N- and O-glycans, GPI anchors, and glycosphingolipid head groups. Working with many academic and industrial collaborators, we help apply new enzymes or workflows to various topics in glycobiology including glycoprotein analysis, biologic drug quality control, serum glycan biomarker discovery, and parasitology.
