FAQ: Why is the RNA running as a smear or stuck in the well?
The enzyme binds tightly to the RNA which may result in it running as a smear or stuck in the well.
Heating at 90°C for 3 minutes or treatment with Proteinase K releases the RNA; for some samples Proteinase K treatment is required.
